Real Madrid are ready to cash in on Marco Asensio and the Premier League’s giants have been alerted by the situation.
Marco Asensio was expected to be the in-house option by many Real Madrid fans to fill in the void that was left by Cristiano Ronaldo. However, things have not gone really well for the 22-year-old. Since the start of the campaign, he has found the back of the net only once and has failed to even set up the goals of late.
Having been frustrated with how the 2018/19 season is panning out for the left winger, Real Madrid will listen to offers for him, according to reports. It is understood that any suitor who arrives with a check of 100 million pounds in hand will get the liberty to discuss contractual terms with Marco Asensio.
Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have shown interest in the forward recently whereas Manchester United and Liverpool have also been keeping close tabs on the development of Marco Asensio. But despite Real Madrid’s readiness to get rid of him, Asensio has stated that he has no immediate intentions of leaving the Spanish capital.
Asensio said: “I’ve never had the intention to go anywhere. This is my third season. In this one I think I have continuity and more prominence, and I’m seeing the performances I’m doing.”

Opinion
It has been thought that Asensio could be out of Real Madrid by as early as January, but if the Whites take that drastic step, they’d have sold the brightest talent in their current squad. In two seasons under Zinedine Zidane, Marco Asensio scored over twenty goals for the European champions including some vital ones against Europe’s elite teams. That was despite him playing second fiddle to Cristiano Ronaldo during most of the season.
From how things are turning out to be in recent weeks, a boomerang like thing keeps pushing every issue onto the coach and rightly so, because it is clear that no Real Madrid player is being able to excel under Lopetegui’s system simply because of the fact that he plays a style based on possession and passing, unlike his predecessors who commissioned a more direct flow.
An injection of direct and free-flowing attacking football is just what Real Madrid need at this moment and it is not going to come from Julen Lopetegui’s side. The Whites need to vest authority into someone like Antonio Conte or Laurent Blanc who is of an attacking mentality and can bring the best out of a team like Real Madrid famed for a forward minded style. Maybe if Asensio fails under another manager then Real Madrid could consider selling him, but right now it would be a bad step because the entire squad is performing badly.
