Real Madrid defeated Viktoria Plzen to get their first win in more than a month. Here’s an insight at every player’s performance on the night.

Real Madrid put a misery of five winless matches behind them and grabbed a victory in their clash over Viktoria Plzen on Tuesday night in the UEFA Champions League. Karim Benzema was on target for the Whites after nearly six weeks. Marcelo joined the Frenchman on the score sheet in the second half with his second goal in as many outings.

The visitors pulled a goal back in the latter stages of the match but were unable to cause inflict any more damage and were sent back home empty-handed. The win for the Whites came at a very important time at the club with mostly two things at stake- Lopetegui’s job and El Clasico.  Hence, they deserve the accolade despite not being at their top.

Let’s have a detailed insight at every player’s performance.

Goalkeeper- Keylor Navas- 6/10

Keylor Navas is the selected one for the UEFA Champions League and started the match against Viktoria Plzen. The goalkeeper was not called into action on many instances as though the visitors fumbled a few chances from six or seven paces out in the first half. As a matter of fact, the Costa Rican had only one shot on his goal which found the back of the net, he should have done better while dealing with that but absolutely no worries about that.

If I were the Real Madrid coach, I would start him in El Clasico, especially because of the fact that he’s having superior stats as compared to Thibaut Courtois against Barcelona. However, that does not look like a case anyway.
