Defensive Midfielder- Sergio Busquets- 8/10

Sergio Busquets endured yet another fabulous match playing in the heart of the midfield. The defensive midfielder was not called upon for defensive duty very often and as a result had the leverage to hold on to the ball and orchestrate the gameplay from the back. Borja Valero was not causing any troubles to Busquets and did little to close him down allowing his passing play for flourish. He completed a magnificent proportion of 99% of his attempted passes and delivered another great performance.

Left Midfielder- Arthur Melo- 8.5/10

It has been less than four months since Arthur Melo was recruited by Barcelona. However, the young midfielder is fantastically adapting to the playing style at the Camp Nou. He brilliantly pulled the strings on Wednesday and helped a lot with the build-up play. It was a pity that two or three sensational passes of his went unfinished which led him to missing out on an assist. With performances like Wednesday’s, Arthur is making a case for himself to start more often and is slowly cementing his place in Ernesto Valverde’s preferred starting eleven.

Right Midfielder- Ivan Rakitic- 9/10

Just a few matches back, it looked like Ivan Rakitic was severely in need of some rest. However, he put in an amazing display against Inter Milan. The 30-year-old was present literally everywhere in the midfield and linked up very well with the players who were raiding forward- especially Sergi Roberto and Rafinha down the right hand side. Rakitic provided an assist to Jordi Alba in the latter stages of the match and completed 94% of his passes.
