After a dominant win on Tuesday, Juventus has a chance to get another winning streak going against Empoli on Saturday.

Juve’s last Serie A match was a major disappointment, drawing against Genoa in a match where Juve looked like they were going to cruise to their 12th consecutive match. The bounced back well against Manchester United on Tuesday and will now turn their attention back to Serie A. They will be looking to maintain their 4 point lead atop the league against newly promoted Empoli.

Empoli finds themselves on the other end of the Serie A table, sitting in 18th after 9 matches. The season started well for them as they beat Cagliari 2-0 in the season opener to secure their first win in their return to Italy’s top league. However, things took a major downward turn for them after that match.

They haven’t won a single match since then and now they find themselves facing the worst part of their schedule. After playing Juventus on Saturday they will head to Napoli the following weekend. They will need their best performances since opening day if they hope to get points from either of those matches.

For Juventus this match represents a chance to rest some players and gives their injured players a chance to recover. Their health concerns in the midfield and the injury to Mario Mandzukic will force them to get creative with their lineup.

I think this gives them a perfect chance to take another look at the 3-4-1-2 formation. This formation will give them a chance to rest one of their midfielders, finally give Federico Bernardeschi another chance to start and get Douglas Costa back into the starting lineup.
