ST: Paulo Dybala

With Mario Mandzukic on the mend, Juve will once again have the chance to start Paulo Dybala in his best role. He hasn’t gotten to play in a strike partnership often this season, but in the two appearances where that was his role, he scored 4 goals, including a hat trick against Young Boys.

Another match as a second striker alongside Ronaldo could be a great step toward Dybala once again reaching peak form and should be a great boost to his confidence. He hasn’t quite been able to fit into Juve’s new formation this season, but he’ll fit perfectly in this match.

ST: Cristiano Ronaldo

More from Serie A

Cristiano Ronaldo is arguably coming off of his least effective match since he joined Juventus. He only managed 2 shots on goal, which is well below his average for the season and he rarely looked dangerous throughout the match.

However, he has been absolutely on fire in Serie A lately. He has scored 5 goals and assisted 3 more in his last 6 Serie A appearances and will hope to keep that going against Empoli. He looked good the last time he started alongside Dybala up front, so it should be interesting to see if it’s a combination that Juve can use consistently.

GK: Wojciech Szczesny

Szczesny kept yet another clean sheet on Tuesday. It was his 6th in 11 appearances this season and keeps him as the clear choice to start as Juve’s goalkeeper. He has played well throughout the season for Juve and will continue to hold off Mattia Perin for as long as he performs like this.
