Max Allegri would turn Manchester United into a powerhouse again
By Kian Long
In a saga of twists and turns, Max Allegri has now been identified as a man who can replace Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
Manchester United seriously need to re-evaluate their managerial situation. To put it simply, they haven’t been good enough in recent weeks. Jose Mourinho has not been firing up his players as much as he should be, although he too is in a sticky situation.
United find themselves in 10th place, with the opportunity to move up to 8th should they beat Everton on Sunday. It’s by no means a position of crisis at this stage in the season, but by United’s standards, they should be doing a lot better.

There have been talks over how long it will take the United board to fire Mourinho. With the days of having Zinedine Zidane’s interest a distant memory, they’ve not really had anyone to fall back on. However, the Sunday Express is reporting that both Antonio Conte and Max Allegri are candidates to take over at United.
In case you didn’t know, Max Allegri is in fine form as a manager right now. As he’s become accustomed to in the last few seasons, Juventus is dominating Serie A. Juventus has a 10-game unbeaten run in the league currently, and they sit at the top of the table because of it. The United fans will know all about the way in which Allegri has Juventus playing, as they suffered a 1-0 loss at home to the Old Lady.
However, Antonio Conte is perhaps the less favourable option. He looked worse for wear as his time with Chelsea came to a stop. While you could argue he has a point to prove, it doesn’t look Conte’s career will take an upwards trajectory any time soon. That’s why it could come as a positive for United fans that he is being linked with the United job, alongside Santiago Solari.
What United need is a manager who can come in and take the club by the scruff of the neck. Jose Mourinho has been known to sit back and watch the troubles unfold, which is not what the fans want. They need someone who can challenge the board, and rifle the players into playing for the badge with pride.
With Chelsea and Arsenal benefiting from a change of managerial personnel lately, United will look to keep up. It’s important they do so if they are to be taken in any way seriously.
