Arsenal’s interest in Ousmane Dembele is clear to see. That said, their eyes will light up with FC Barcelona looking to sell the Frenchman.
Arsenal will feel like they are in luck because Ousmane Dembele is falling out of favour at FC Barcelona. According to The Sun, the Catalan club could look to shift their French star in January of next year.
The French attacker has been linked with a move to Arsenal many times in the past, however, nothing came into fruition. Obviously, if Arsenal does look to pursue a move for Dembele, then they could face competition in either Liverpool and/or Chelsea.

The Gunners need a winger more than ever right now. Under Unai Emery, a player who is able to stick to the wide position and provide service into the box is the only thing which is missing. Of all the players to deploy wide positions this season for Arsenal, all of them are natural central players.
If you’re looking for a player who can stick out wide and do his job well, by swinging accurate balls into the path of the attacker, look no further than Dembele. This was the Frenchman’s role at Borussia Dortmund, but he hasn’t been given the license to do so at Barcelona.
We saw just how capable he is of carrying out this task in the recent El Clasico. He came on to replace Philippe Coutinho, and within minutes he grabbed himself an assist by teeing up Arturo Vidal. It came from immense footwork out wide, finished off by laying the ball on a plate to his Chilean teammate.
In case you didn’t know, he has an immense partnership with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The two shared a fruitful time at Borussia Dortmund, where Dembele was at his most prolific. He also has experience of working with Alexandre Lacazette in the French national team.
Ageing at 21 years old, Dembele has plenty of time to become a star. Already looking like a mature player, it won’t take much for Unai Emery to unearth the gem which Ernesto Valverde has failed to unearth.
The style of play in which Emery is inflicting with Arsenal is perfect for Dembele. Arsenal look to break with speed and style, often stunning their opponents with immense passing movements. This is ideal for Dembele, as his speed on the ball is undeniable and his creative ability is unmatched.
I think it’s a no-brainer for Emery to pursue a move for Dembele. Sven Mislintat, Arsenal’s head of recruitment, will know plenty about Dembele from his Dortmund days, so don’t be surprised to see him involved in the pursuit.
