It’s fair to say 2018 has not been the Chilean’s best year. He was expected of big things when he left Arsenal to sign for Manchester United, but his time has been a failure.

Former Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez has failed to live up to the expectation he set when he joined Manchester United. He is only having a negative impact on the side, but in truth, there aren’t many positives surrounding the club at the moment.

The Manchester United board have consistently spoken about the ways in which they can dispose of Alexis Sanchez. This is just one of the precautions they are looking to make in order to return to superclub status. It appears they are in quite the rush to do so, too.

More from Manchester United

According to The Sun, Paris Saint-Germain are looking to take advantage of United’s stance. The French giants aren’t looking to overspend on the Chilean, and they will even look into the possibility of a free transfer. While a free transfer may look to be dramatic, depending on how much the United board want to dispose of him, this could be a very real possibility.

Many fans across the world share differing emotions when it comes to Alexis Sanchez. Obviously, the Arsenal faithful will be glad that this is the case. In many ways, they will feel like the ‘burden’ is off their shoulders now.

He’s not known for being the most sociable and team-friendly player in the world. It’s no coincidence that Arsenal’s squad morale drastically improved as soon as they sold Alexis.

Manchester United lost Henrikh Mkhitaryan as part of the swap deal. The Armenian is currently going through a dry patch, and the Arsenal fans are giving him the same treatment. However, at least with Mkhi, fans will feel like there is some glimmer of hope. He can easily turn his form around, and even if he doesn’t, he isn’t a first-team regular anyway.

In case you didn’t know, PSG is one of the wealthiest sports clubs in the entire world. So the fact they are unwilling to cough up the fees for Alexis Sanchez is only indicative of the negative perception of Alexis.

The reason why Paris Saint-Germain are looking to sign Alexis is that they fear to lose either Neymar or Kylian Mbappe, or perhaps even both. They need somebody who is worthy to fill in for either of these stars.

In my opinion, Alexis is more than capable of filling in for Neymar or Mbappe. He has the talent, it’s just a case of whether or not he will show that on the pitch. Alexis is known for his sprinting ability and his deadly view of the game. He will often be picking up the positions which are left exploitable by his opposing number.
