With fatigue starting to set in and injuries piling up, Juventus was blessed with a week between matches at a perfect time.

However, their luck may have run out there as there are catching Cagliari during a spell of very good form. They have picked up 7 points in their last 3 matches, only dropping points in a road draw against Fiorentina. This run has bumped them up to 12th on the Serie A table.

Juve has also picked up 7 points in their last 3 Serie A matches, but two of those matches have been incredibly disappointing. They drew at home against Genoa in a match where they completely dominated the first half. They followed that up with a dominant midweek performance against Manchester United, but returned to their disappointing form that following weekend against Empoli. Juve required a controversial penalty and an incredible finish from Ronaldo to get a win at Empoli. It was nothing close to what Juve fans were hoping for after the disappointment against Genoa.

Napoli’s win on Friday means that Juventus will ned to play well to maintain their 6 point lead atop Serie A. Unfortunately, they will be shorthanded for the match. Giorgio Chiellini, Mattia De Sciglio, Federico Bernardeschi, Alex Sandro and Douglas Costa all appear to be unavailable to start on Saturday. It’s tough situation to be in, especially with a Champions League match coming up, but it’s one Juventus is prepared for.  Juve will still most likely start in a 4-3-3, but it will be a somewhat unfamiliar lineup in that formation.
