5. England National Team – Manager

The very thought of  Arsene Wenger managing the England National Team seems very natural like it’s something that is bound to happen at some point in time. After Sam Allardyce was asked to step down as England Manager, there was heavy speculation that Wenger would take up the role but instead, The FA appointed Gareth Southgate.

Back in 2016, this was what Wenger had said when he was asked about taking up the role of England manager,

"” My priority is to do well here – this has always been my club – but one day if I am free, why not, but at the moment I am focused on my job.”"

Now he’s finally free and there’s no other manager that would know the English players better than Wenger. But Southgate has impressed and England even reached the Semi-finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Unless the FA decide to make a shock decision, it’s less likely that Wenger may take up the role of leading the Three Lions but it’s always a possible destination for the Frenchman.

Despite being constantly criticized towards the second half of his Arsenal tenure, he is no doubt one of the greatest managers to have graced the English Premier League and will always be remembered as one of the greatest managers in football history.
