CM: Miralem Pjanic 7/10

This was a rare performance for Pjanic where his defensive contribution outweighed what he was able to accomplish for the attack. He only managed 1 key pass and 1 accurate cross but contributed 1 tackle and 3 interceptions. He didn’t play a part in any of Juve’s goals, but his defensive performance helped keep Juventus in control of the match. This was yet another in a line of matches where Pjanic wasn’t able to make the decisive pass for Juve this season. At some point, he will need to return to creating like he did last year for Juve to have a chance at a Champions League trophy.

CM: Blaise Matuidi 6.5/10

It would’ve been easy to forget that Matuidi was even on the field for long stretches of this match. He simply didn’t do much to impact this match in any way. He only made one tackle and one clearance and did nothing to help the attack. It was a very slow day for Matuidi, but not one where he was at all detrimental to Juve’s efforts. However, he will need to do more for Juve on Wednesday.

CM: Rodrigo Bentancur 8/10

This was Bentancur’s best match yet this year. He made major contributions on both ends of the field for just the second time this season. He assisted Dybala’s opening goal and made the biggest defensive contribution of the day for Juve. His 3 tackles, 6 interceptions, and 3 clearances made life very difficult for Cagliari as they tried to develop an attack. With the age and lack of depth in Juve’s midfield, it is important for Bentancur to find a role where he can contribute. Matches like this will give Juve hope that the role can be a big one in the future.
