LW: Cristiano Ronaldo 8/10

This was looking like a disappointing day for Cristiano Ronaldo for most of the match. That changed in the 87th minute when he played Juan Cuadrado though on goal to put Juventus ahead   3-1. This gave Juve some breathing room in a match where they dominated but mostly failed to create anything with that dominance.

It also extended Ronaldo’s streak to 8 consecutive Serie A matches with either a goal or an assist. Ronaldo didn’t put a shot on target in this match, but did come close to scoring late in the first half. His assist might not have seemed like a big deal, but Juve really needed that last goal to keep their confidence high heading into Wednesday’s match against Manchester United.

ST: Paulo Dybala 8.5/10

This was the best Paulo Dybala has looked in the 4-3-3 this season. He made a great move to shake loose for the opening goal. He played a great ball to Ronaldo to start the counterattack that resulted in the 3rd goal. I still don’t believe that this is the role Dybala should be playing, but he looked very good in it against Cagliari.

RW: Douglas Costa 7/10

Douglas Costa was able to make quite a mark on this match in spite of the short time he was involved in it. He made 3 key passes and sent in an accurate cross in the 45 minutes he was on the field. He also put a shot on target, although it never really seemed like much of a threat.

Most importantly, even though his cross that led to the own goal didn’t really have anybody around to get on the end of it, it was a dangerous ball and did get the desired result out of it. This was the best Costa has looked since his injury. Hopefully, he can perform like this over a full 90 minutes in his next appearance.
