Real Madrid dispatched Real Valladolid to grab a hard fought victory by a 2-0 score on Saturday. Here’s a look at how every player did on the day.

Real Madrid put an end to a misery of five winless La Liga matches by beating Real Valladolid 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Saturday evening. Kiko’s own goal and Sergio Ramos’ penalty sealed three vital points for the European champions in the final ten minutes in a cajoling and open affair, which was Santiago Solari’s first outing as a gaffer in front of the home crowd.

The interim manager did not go with too many unconventional options in the Real Madrid squad which managed to grab a hard fought win. La Pucelas who were the visiting side did have some moments which needed ruing of their own, but at the end of ninety minutes, Madrid certainly deserved to win and so they did. Let us take a look at how each Real Madrid player fared in the match.

Goalkeeper- Thibaut Courtois- 7/10

Thibaut Courtois managed to keep a clean sheet against Real Valladolid. The Belgian shot stopper was not called into action too many times, but made one good save of an awkwardly curling shot towards him. Real Valladolid hit the crossbar on two occasions from over 20 yards out, but in fairness to Thibaut Courtois, there was nothing which he could do. The former Chelsea keeper got a Real Madrid win after 42 days, his last one being on September 22 versus Espanyol. Having finally kept a clean sheet, Courtois will be looking to challenge for the Bobby Zamora Award for the cleanest slates in the league campaign.
