Arsenal is on a 14 game unbeaten run, and while it’s by no means 49, the fans are delighted with the progress shown.

Arsenal has been on a terrific run of 14 matches across all competitions. During this time, they have lost zero matches, while winning a large majority of them. There is a lot of factors going into this run, a lot more than you may think. Here are just five of them…

1. Unai Emery’s impact

When Arsene Wenger left Arsenal, nobody expected his replacement to make this much of an impact. In fact, I don’t think anybody would have predicted Unai Emery to make the quite the mark he has so far.

13 games unbeaten is not to be taken lightly, as it takes immense consistency to produce these results. But Emery has done it, and he’s made Arsenal look like a much better club than they were last season.

Many argue that Wenger build the foundations for Emery to build upon. You can argue either way on that, but I think it’s true. A lot of the stars who are impressing this season were signed and developed under Wenger, they just needed the added discipline of Emery to guide them into stardom.

The fans are delighted with Emery’s appointment, and rightly so. A number of the traditional fans feel like they’ve got their Arsenal back. Because of course, they would have become accustomed to not losing during Arsenal’s historic invincible season.

It’s difficult to understand why Emery isn’t receiving as much praise as he should, but the fans will prefer it this way. Silent but violent, that’s the key.
