5. ‘Washed out’ players are looking squeaky clean

There are a number of individual stars who have benefited from Emery’s appointment more than others. At a quick glance, those are the likes of Alex Iwobi, Granit Xhaka and Mesut Ozil. But collectively, each individual has benefited from his appointment – and there’s not one player who has had a bad experience as of yet.

Ozil is the one which most people were looking forward to seeing. It’s been a while since he worked under a disciplinary manager, as Wenger let him off the hook a little bit. But he is going out there each week and bossing it. I mean, we all remember THAT Leicester performance.

Iwobi is a surprise player to benefit. But when you consider all the factors, fans shouldn’t be too surprised. There was always a gem to be unearthed in the Nigerian prodigy, but it just took somebody like Emery to guide him in the right direction. Now, whenever he is introduced to play, he is lively and exciting on the ball. Fans love a nutmeg, as does Iwobi.

I’ve already touched on Xhaka. It was Emery’s smart spending in the transfer window which paved the way for Xhaka to impress. The Swiss international even acknowledged this after his goal against Fulham, as he ran to celebrate with the head coach.

So, there are a large number of benefits which Emery’s appointment has brought to the club so far, but Arsenal just needs to focus on getting through the busy festive period coming up next month, before we can consider them as serious contenders. As of now, they’re doing a pretty good job!
