LB: Alex Sandro

There’s no doubt that Alex Sandro will be starting this match. He got to make a quick appearance on Saturday against Cagliari after having a week off following the match against Empoli. The only way Sandro wouldn’t be starting this match would be if he picked up an injury and the fact that Leonardo Spinazzola and Douglas Costa both are unavailable makes the choice even easier. Before his injury Sandro had started to play unbelievably well, putting in a great attacking performance in the first half against Genoa and then dominating on defense against Empoli. With Romelu Lukaku missing Wednesday’s match it’s likely that United will use a packer lineup for the match and Alex Sandro will need to play a big role in slowing them down.

RB: Joao Cancelo

There have been some concerns about Joao Cancelo’s availability for this match, but the fact that he was named in the squad gives me hope that he will get the start on Wednesday. He has been the best right back in the world this season and every match he plays in the Champions League gives the young talent a chance to continue to develop against good competition. If he isn’t able to start then Juve will see a big drop off when they are forced to start either Juan Cuadrado or Mattia De Sciglio in this position. Cuadrado doesn’t defend as well as Cancelo and De Sciglio doesn’t offer the same attacking threat. Cancelo has been a great signing for Juventus so far this season and I hope we get to see him perform against United on Wednesday.
