Left Back- Jordi Alba- 7/10

Jordi Alba continued his great run of form before Luis Enrique’s announcement of the Spain national squad with a well-organized display in Milan. The 30-year-old did not really get his hands dirty when defending because Matteo Politano had a quiet evening. Alba went forward and did his bit, but was unfortunate to not get a few assists. Nonetheless, the defender was looking complete on the night and he’d now be hoping to get into Enrique’s Spain squad.

Centre Back- Clement Lenglet- 6/10

Clement Lenglet started yet another game next to Gerard Pique, but he did look slightly off colour in the Inter Milan outing. The former Sevilla centre back was given some troublesome moments by the hosts’ attacking unit and was looking tired in the latter stages of the game. Lenglet’s lack of experience was probably something that was influential in his poor performance, but Barcelona fulfilled their main objective and the Frenchman can be excused.

Centre Back- Gerard Pique- 6.5/10

Similar to his partner in the centre of defence in Clement Lenglet, Gerard Pique had an off day in the San Siro as well. The 30-year-old was given some testing moments by Mauro Icardi who was treacherous in the box as usual. Pique failed in nullifying the 25-year-old striker and should have done a lot better when Barcelona conceded the goal in the final minutes of the game.

Right Back- Sergi Roberto- 6/10

Sergi Roberto either did not have a night to remember in the Blaugrana’s dead heat. The Spain international was not really active in the defensive part of things and most of his involvement came when Barcelona attacked. Ivan Perisic would breeze past him and Roberto did little to keep the Croatian cool. In such a circumstance when defending against a player of Perisic’s quality is important, Semedo could have been of better utility.
