Defensive Midfielder- Sergio Busquets- 6.5/10

Sergio Busquets dropped a poor display against Rayo Vallecano last weekend and did not increment on that by a high rate against Inter Milan either. The defensive midfielder was given a tough time by Radja Nainggolan in the centre of the park and he came under pressure whilst on the ball as well. Busquets will be looking to get an ample rest of four days before taking on Real Betis next weekend and hoping to produce a better display than he did in his last two outings.

Right Midfielder- Ivan Rakitic- 7.5/10

Ivan Rakitic was easily the only Barcelona player who replicated a decent first half performance in the second half apart from Philippe Coutinho. The Croatia international covered up for Sergio Busquets’ errors with the ball and helped really well in the dispensation of the ball from the central areas of the pitch. On a night when Arthur failed to shine too, Rakitic was the only link between the defence and attack. In Barcelona’s next game against Betis, Rakitic would love to get a deserved rest ahead of a demanding period of international outings.

Left Midfielder- Arthur Melo- 6/10

The display against Inter Milan was arguably the worst one that Arthur Melo has put in, in a Barcelona shirt since arriving from Gremio this summer. The Brazilian has been likened to Xavi Hernandez is recent weeks, but if he continues to perform the way he did against Il Nerazzurri, then that reputation will certainly change. Keeping in mind that Arthur is only 21, he must be able to function fluidly when his team plays a match every three days. The Barcelona fan base should hope that such a display was only a one off.
