GK: Wojciech Szczesny

It may not seem like it this week, but Szczesny has been the best keeper in this matchup by far. Gianluigi Donnarumma has looked incredibly uncomfortable with the ball at his feet and has also struggled to keep opponents’ shots out. Szczesny has played a mistake-free season right up until Wednesday and has had made few big saves for Juve throughout the season. Donnarumma appears to have peaked when he was 17, so this spot will belong to Szczesny until Mattia Perin takes his job.

LB: Alex Sandro

Alex Sandro is the best left back in Serie A. That’s really all there is to this selection. It also helps his case that Milan has rotated quite a few guys through this position this season, but none of them are on Sandro’s level. He has been especially impressively lately, just recently putting on his best performances of the year. There are very few left backs who could take this spot from Sandro and none of them play for AC Milan.

RB: Joao Cancelo

Joao Cancelo has been the biggest surprise of Juve’s season. He has been absolutely incredible on both ends of the field. Over the course of the season he has supplied 1.8 key passes per match and has made 2.1 tackles per appearance. Ricardo Rodriguez is a solid player, but he hasn’t looked as good as the budding star this season. I picked Sime Vrsaljko at right back when I did this for the Derby della Madonnina and the man he replaced at Inter has looked even better than him this season. As a Juve fan, I’m pretty thrilled that I could get to watch him for almost another decade.
