Juventus will be looking to rebound on Sunday against AC Milan after losing their first match of the year against Manchester United on Wednesday.

It looked like Juventus was going to win Group H on Wednesday as they held a 1-0 lead with time running out on the match. Then disaster struck when Juan Mata scored a phenomenal free-kick and then Leonardo Bonucci scored an own goal to throw away their chance to coast through the rest of the Champions League group stage. This was the culmination of a couple of weeks where Juventus has struggled to win matches they have dominated.

AC Milan hasn’t quite had the same issues recently. In fact, they have been on fire in Serie A. They have won 5 of their last 6 in the league en route to 4th place on the league table. They haven’t been as successful in Europa League, dropping 5 points out of a possible 6 in their last 2 matches against Real Betis. Still, Juventus will need to perform well to stop Milan’s hot run in the league.

Juventus will finally have most of their options at their disposal once again. Sami Khedira, Mario Mandzukic, Federico Bernardeschi, and Douglas Costa will all once again be available to start this match, giving them the most tactical flexibility they’ve had in weeks. Even with the team getting healthier it will still take one of their best performances of the year to win at the San Siro, which is always a difficult task.
