Chelsea’s probable starting XI vs Tottenham: Pedro gets the nod
AM: Eden Hazard
Hazard featured in a bizarre encounter for Belgium last Sunday. The Red Devils raced into an early lead as Hazard (Eden’s younger brother Thorgan that is) scored a brace after just 17 minutes. But, remarkably, the Swiss went on to win 5-2.
Hazard looked electric upon his return from injury in a cameo appearance against Crystal Palace, but has been pretty quiet ever since. Under the floodlights at Wembley could be the perfect setting for the star to get back on the score sheet and regain his early season form.
AM: Pedro
Although Sarri usually opts for Willian in a fully fit attack, I feel Pedro could be utilized in this one. The former had a poor game for Brazil midweek; while, Pedro enjoyed a rest.
The Spaniard ran his socks off and notched a goal and an assist in his last start versus Crystal Palace. His added zest could be just what is needed in what’s bound to be a tight encounter.
FW: Alvaro Morata
As already mentioned, Kepa’s stock rose considerably during Spain’s international break; but the same cannot be said about his compatriot.
Morata spurned a couple of glorious opportunities against Bosnia; tripping over himself in front of an open for one which has to be seen to be believed.
He is still just about worth his starting place for The Blues after a decent spell, but Olivier Giroud should also feature at some stage whether Chelsea is holding onto a lead or chasing a late goal.
The Spaniard is a bit of an enigma, but he must show up and be counted when it matters and avoid another no-show such as against Manchester United.
