The last time Juventus and Valencia met in the Champions League, Cristiano Ronaldo was give a ridiculous red card, but Juventus still prevailed by a scoreline of 2-0.

After that match Juventus went on to take a commanding lead atop Group H. They seemed to have even locked down the top spot in their home match against Manchester United before a late collapse gave United hope for a first place finish. Now this match against Valencia has become a must-win to ensure Juve takes first place in this group.

They have played much better in the 2 matches since the lost to United. They have won both matches by 2-0 scorelines. The first came away against AC Milan and the second came this weekend at home against SPAL. They now sit in 1st place in Serie A by 8 points.

This season has been pretty tough for Valencia. They currently sit in 10th in La Liga thanks to the fact that they only won once in their first 11 matches. They have begun to turn things around thanks to consecutive wins over Getafe and Rayo Vallecano.

They also turned around their Champions League season this month. Their win over Young Boys helped them keep their hopes of advancing to the knockout stages alive. Now if they can get a win against Juventus they would have a chance to advance with a win at home against Manchester United.

Juve is still pretty shallow in the midfield, but they have enough players available to go back to  their 4-3-3. It has been their main formation for big games and should be the choice here for Juve as they try to hold onto 1st place in the group.
