CM: Miralem Pjanic

Miralem Pjanic had his best match of the season against Valencia and he’ll be hoping to make this one count as well. In the first match he converted both Juve penalties to give them the win in spite of the Ronaldo red card. He also happens to be coming off of one his best Serie A performances of the year. He earned his first assist since September with a beautifully delivered free kick that Ronaldo directed into the back of the net. Fatigue will likely still be a concern here, but Panic gives Juve their best chance to win.

CM: Blaise Matuidi

Blaise Matuidi is another player who will likely need to worry about fatigue. He has played an unbelievably packed schedule since the start of last season and his work rate has begun to catch with him recently. He was left out of the starting lineup against SPAL to give him a chance to rest, but Allegri then inexplicably subbed him on in the second half. Hopefully that decision won’t be costly here because Juve doesn’t have any options other than their 3 starters. They need Matuidi to keep up his usual pace in this match to keep Valencia from developing any threatening attacks.

CM: Rodrigo Bentancur

Rodrigo Bentancur has been a pleasant surprise for Juventus this season. He was expected to become a regular starter at some point in the future, but has dealt extremely well with being thrust into that role this season. He is guaranteed this spot for the match against Valencia simply out of necessity, but it may be one that he has done enough to hold onto once the midfield is completely healthy. Bentancur is developing on the fly when he is started in matches like this so we really don’t know what to expect, but if the way he has handled his new role so far is any indication then  he should thrive for Juve on Tuesday.
