These five stars could excel under Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea, but are they worthy of filling Eden Hazard’s boots?
Eden Hazard is a prominent figure at Chelsea. He is perceived by many as their best player and some even consider him to be the best player in the Premier League. We’re not here to talk about that, though…
It’s looking likely that he will leave Chelsea sooner or later. His contract runs out in the summer of 2020, so it’s important that The Blues look into potential replacements. Here are just five that I have highlighted.
1. Hirving Lozano (PSV)
Deemed by many as the breakout star at this year’s World Cup, Hirving Lozano failed to get his lucrative summer move. Perhaps that’s a good thing though because it means he has more time to develop in the Eredivisie.
Hirving Lozano has been one of PSV’s best players this season and they’re reaping all the benefits. At the time of writing this, PSV sits top of the table with Lozano scoring 10 of their Eredivisie goals. This is quite the feat for any attacker, especially considering he’s played in just 10 games.
In the World Cup, he was most renowned for crushing the hearts of the champions at the time, Germany. His impressive finish was the goal which gave Mexico fans plenty of hope and the team certainly exceeded their expectations.
‘Chucky’ would add a new dynamic to Chelsea’s play. Where Hazard is beginning to become more selfish (in a good way), Lozano would come in and add a creative element. He’s shown his ability to cut inside, but he also excels at creativity from wide positions, which could be beneficial for Alvaro Morata.
