4. Thorgan Hazard (Borussia Monchengladbach)

I mean, replacing Hazard with Hazard will save a lot of printing money, won’t it?

All jokes aside, Thorgan Hazard could be Chelsea’s best bet. He did use to play in London, before moving to Germany in 2015. His time with Gladbach has been positive, and in his many years with the club now, he has learned a great deal about the game. Should Chelsea wish to sign him, then they will have the option to do so.

Thorgan Hazard is in sumptuous form currently, even better than Eden with Chelsea. The winger has scored seven goals and provided four assists in his last eight competitive games, for both club and country.

While stats should never be the be all or end all, it’s easy to see why Chelsea fans often romanticise about re-signing their former star. He is just 25 years old too, so there is plenty of time to nurture under Maurizio Sarri.

Many would see this as a panic buy, but it’s far from a panic buy. From a Chelsea perspective, it would simply be making the most of their options. He would probably be the easiest of this list to sign but that’s not indicative of his quality.

He has the ability to play in a variety of positions across the front line. However, he seems to excel as a right-sided player. His versatility will serve him well should he join Chelsea, and it wouldn’t take long for Sarri to make the most of it.
