Real Madrid celebrated a 2-0 success against Valencia courtesy of Lucas Vazquez and an own goal. Here’s how the players performed against Los Che.

Real Madrid got a second win on the trot on Saturday evening when they defeated Valencia by a 2-0 margin. Santiago Solari’s men were made to dig deep and fight hard for the three points, which they certainly deserved at the end of 90 minutes and continued to hope that those above them drop points subsequently.

The Whites started the game with fantastic intensity and that paid off when Dani Carvajal forced an own goal of Valencia defender Daniel Wass. Real Madrid kept the pressure on for the entirety of the first half and despite there being a few chances that went begging both ways in the second period, Lucas Vazquez scored for the defending European champions seven minutes from time to secure the success.

Real Madrid now have a goal difference of +3 and what position they end up in after the game week will be determined after the Sunday and Monday matches. Nonetheless, it was an extremely important win for Los Blancos who needed to respond after being humbled by Eibar a week ago.

Let us now take a look at the player ratings for Real Madrid.

Goalkeeper- Thibaut Courtois- 8/10

Thibaut Courtois put in a world-class display after some blunders in the last few weeks and deservingly keeping a clean sheet at the end of the match. The former Chelsea goalkeeper made some brilliant saves, especially off compatriot Michy Batshuayi’s shot from point-blank range. Santi Mina and Kevin Gameiro also had several shots on goal which were properly dealt with by Courtois.
