LW: Cristiano Ronaldo

This one really is a no-brainer no matter who Juve’s squad is being combined with. It’s really just a matter of whether he’s listed as a striker or a winger. We all know that Ronaldo has been one of the 2 best players in the world over the last decade and now even at 33 years old he is currently tied atop Serie A’s scoring list with ten goals and is tied for second with 5 assists. There is a strong argument to be made that there hasn’t been anybody in Serie A who has performed better this season. He’ll carry a streak of 11 consecutive Serie A matches with either a goal or an assist into this match and it shouldn’t surprise anybody if he makes it 12 on Friday.

ST: Mauro Icardi

More from Serie A

Mauro Icardi has been one of the best strikers in Serie A for the last 4 years and he is once again trying to prove that he is the best striker in Serie A this season. His 8 goals in his first 11 appearances have him in 4th on the league’s scoring list as he tries to defend his Capocannoniere title. It hasn’t been smooth sailing all season with Icardi failing to score in his first 4 appearances of the year, but he has been absolutely on fire lately. He has scored all 8 of his goals for the season in his last 6 starts, including 2 braces in those matches. He is the heart of Inter’s squad and he would be extremely dangerous at the center of this attack.

RW: Ivan Perisic

This one was a really tough call to make. Matteo Politano has performed better this season for Inter and has played a key role in a few big wins, but Ivan Perisic has been doing great work for Inter for years now and the difference between these two players this season hasn’t been big enough to close the gap on their career achievements. Perisic came into this season with his biggest expectations yet coming off of his impressive run during the World Cup that helped Croatia make it all the way to the final. He opened the club season well after that, but has struggled to reach the heights of previous years since then.

For now this job remains Perisic’s out of respect for his past performances, but if this season continues to go the way it’s going then this will be Politano’s spot when these teams meet again.
