Real Madrid could have finally found the next Cristiano Ronaldo astonishingly in a player that has been at the club since he was 20 years old!
Real Madrid’s quest for a replacement to Cristiano Ronaldo is still on after their failure in bringing in somebody during the summer. It is fair to say that they have struggled to find the back of net since the Portugal international’s departure, but thankfully, Santiago Solari’s appointment has been good enough for Real Madrid in weathering through the earlier season’s turbulence.
However, Real Madrid may already have Cristiano Ronaldo for the long-term who is present in their famous Real Madrid Castilla side, who goes by the name of Cristo Gonzalez. The 21-year-old striker has been on the scoresheet six times for the second string Real Madrid side and has four in his las five matches for Castilla. In addition to that, Cristo also scored Real Madrid’s fourth goal in their first leg win over Melilla in the cup last month.

A year and a half after arriving from Tenerife, the young forward has the ability to play in versatile attacking positions. Moreover, his eye to get the ball in the back of the net and superlative finishing makes him a guy to keep a sharp eye on. Not just that, Cristo Gonzalez has proven that he wants to make it big for Real Madrid after rejecting Barcelona prior to his million euro transfer to Los Merengues in the 2017 summer.
Cristo has made Santiago Solari’s first team squad twice this season in the Copa del Rey and scored once. In addition to that record, he is also the first name on the team sheet for new Castilla manager Manolo Diaz. Given that Cristo already has five years of experience after playing in Tenerife from the age of 16, it will not come as a surprise if he shortly starts creeping onto the first team’s sheet after a good run of form for Castilla.
With that said, Real Madrid should sign a winger like Neymar, Hazard or Mbappe who can score goals, but at the same time, keep the door open for Cristo Gonzalez to make his way into the senior team. If the 21-year-old continues to show the promise that he has, Borja Mayoral and Mariano Diaz could very well bid farewells to their Real Madrid ambitions unless they pull up quickly.
