Where there’s a Kane, there’s a way.

Barcelona is having a good season in Spain. They have picked up the most goals in La Liga by a long-shot (if you pardon the pun). They sit top with 31 points, three points ahead of Sevilla in second. However, things are never perfect and the Barcelona board has one nagging thought at the back of their minds.

What about Luis Suarez? He’s not getting any younger and Barcelona must think about replacing him soon. He ages at 31, which is by no means old but he is reaching the danger zone as a professional footballer. That said, it comes as no surprise that, according to the Daily Star, Barcelona will make Harry Kane their top transfer target next summer.

Harry Kane is easily better than Luis Suarez

More from FC Barcelona

Harry Kane is going through a below average season by his standards. However, he has still managed to accumulate 13 goals across all competitions, compared to Suarez’s 10. He’s also been doing it a lot more consistently over the last few seasons with Spurs, being labelled as the best striker in the Premier League.

Kane offers a lot more than just goals. He is also heavily involved in Tottenham’s linkup play. He has the ability to play beautiful passes – some which you’d expect the likes of Lionel Messi to make. That said, goalscoring is clearly his strong point. He has the ability to score a multitude of different goals from different positions, making him a truly valuable asset

There were doubts over whether or not he could perform on the big stage. However, a leading six goals at the previous World Cup campaign has silenced those doubts. He has also scored four goals in an important six games for Spurs in the Champions League this season, according to WhoScored.

On the other hand, Suarez is an immense finisher. You don’t lose that with age, just ask a particular Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He has oil left in the tank and you best believe he will continue to provide for Barca given the opportunities.

Tottenham will want to keep Barcelona away

Tottenham have no reason to sell Harry Kane. He signed a contract until 2024, meaning that Spurs can ask for a HUGE amount of money should they wish to sell him. The point remains though, Spurs are not unhappy with Kane and Kane is not unhappy with Spurs. What reason do they have to part ways?

Kane has already brushed aside Real Madrid’s interest, so it will be interesting to see whether or not he can be swayed by Barcelona’s charm. They are definitely a tempting club for any player because to play alongside Lionel Messi is a dream for any player.
