Barcelona claimed bragging rights in the Derbi de Barcelona with a massive 4-0 win over crosstown rivals Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium on Saturday.

Barcelona thrashed Espanyol 4-0 in the Barcelona Derby on Saturday evening corresponding to La Liga Santander’s match day 15. The Catalans continued leading the way in the Spanish top-flight after a commanding win at the RCDE Stadium, just a few kilometers away from the city of Barcelona and Camp Nou Stadium.

Lionel Messi started the goal scoring process with a magnificent free-kick from about 25 yards out. It was the Argentinian winger’s piece of skill that led to Ousmane Dembele getting his goal, though the French forward’s finish was absolutely wonderful so as to give him the due credit.

Ousmane Dembele turned provider for Barcelona’s third goal which was struck on the cusp of half-time. Luis Suarez was the scorer this time out. The former Liverpool striker used great skill and physique to round up his man and score through Diego Lopez’s feet. Lionel Messi added another one in the second half from a free-kick to kill the game off.

While the attackers had a busy day, the defensive unit managed to knit a second successive clean sheet in the league after a run of shipping some goals. Let us see how every Barcelona player fared during the game.

Goalkeeper- Marc Andre Ter Stegen- 7/10

The majority of Marc Andre Ter Stegen’s evening was similar to that of the spectators, however, the Germany international did come into action at times. Marc Andre Ter Stegen made three saves and punched the ball clear seven times in what was a good and less busy night for him.
