Real Madrid is expected to lineup bids for several players in order to replace Cristiano Ronaldo after they failed to do so last summer.
Nabil Fekir of French outfit Olympique Lyon was one signature away from completing a 60 million pounds’ transfer to Premier League toppers Liverpool last summer, but the Reds decided to pull out of the negotiations after he suffered a long-term injury to his knee which showed up during the player’s medical at the club.
Nabil Fekir took a dig at Liverpool for not allowing his move to go through and insisted that he has moved on since the collapse last summer. However, he still remains to be on the radar of the Merseyside giants whereas Chelsea is also considering a 60 million bid for him given the uncertainties surrounding Eden Hazard’s future.

Real Madrid did consider bringing in the France international as a replacement to Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer, but that move never went through. However, the European champions are looking to reignite their interest in Nabil Fekir especially because Lyon is losing sleep over his contract situation.
Fekir’s contract will expire in June 2020 and so, any suitor can purchase him at a cheaper price if the player refuses to pen a fresh deal. Real Madrid was looking to move for Fekir even when Zinedine Zidane was the manager, but the club did not pay heed to him because of the injury issues recorded against him.
Real Madrid could be ready to offer Mariano Diaz in a swap deal for Nabil Fekir after the Dominican striker has failed to make an impact on his second spell at the Santiago Bernabeu. Bayern Munich is also in the running to sign the player and have been monitoring his progress since some time.
Having made 14 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit across all competitions and playing nearly 900 minutes in the 2018/19 campaign, Nabil Fekir has scored four times and assisted four as well. With Real Madrid looking at somebody to score at least half of the 50 goals which Ronaldo scored, Fekir does not seem to be the right man.
