Left Back- Juan Miranda- 7.5/10

Juan Miranda came in for Jordi Alba in what was a rare start for the young left back. Miranda’s Champions League debut was one to remember as he put in a brilliant display for a player of his age and against a team of Spurs’ calibre. He was ever-present in both, the defensive and attacking halves and completed 50 passes with an accuracy of 83%.

Centre Back- Thomas Vermaelen- 6.5/10

Thomas Vermaelen was another player who got a much awaited start with Gerard Pique rested. The former Arsenal centre back played the match with extra motivation given that he played against his former rivals. However, Vermaelen did not have a lot of work to put in on the evening. Yet, he did make a few clearances and blocks that proved to be vital.

Centre Back- Clement Lenglet- 8/10

Clement Lenglet was the only regular in the Barcelona defence and put in a beautiful display whilst nullifying Harry Kane. The former Sevilla defender won as many as 12 duels during the course of the game and made six tackles on his man. Lenglet also made some great clearances to fizz out attacks from the north Londoners.

Right Back- Nelson Semedo- 7.5/10

Given that Nelson Semedo has Ousmane Dembele playing on his side in a rare combination, Semedo was able to excel next to the France international. Moreover, he was vital in keeping Heung-min Son’s threat at bay. The South Korean has been in amazing form and was a colossal figure in the last few of Spurs’ matches. But Semedo did a good job against him.
