Barcelona player ratings vs Spurs: Dembele plays a stunning game
Left Winger- Philippe Coutinho- 8/10
Philippe Coutinho was once again absent from the scoring list but he made sure that his presence on the field was felt to a great extent this time out. The Brazil international gave some troubling moments to the Spurs right back Kieran Trippier and did put Hugo Lloris to the test with some long-range shots. The Brazil international will probably be in the starting eleven for Barcelona’s game at Levante over the weekend. Given that he scored a hat-trick on his last visit there, Coutinho will be playing his heart out.
Striker- Munir El Haddadi- 7/10
It was one of the sparse starts for Munir El Haddadi who came in to replace Luis Suarez who was not even in the Barcelona squad. The striker from Moroccan origin would have hoped to score his first Champions League goal in three years against an opponent like Spurs but it was not a very good evening for him. It looked like the players next to him did not have much faith in his abilities and Barcelona were playing from the wing more often than not.
Right Winger- Ousmane Dembele- 8.5/10
Ousmane Dembele played an amazing match and was undoubtedly the best player from Barcelona’s team throughout the game. The France international was highly involved in the match and made sure that Lionel Messi’s absence for most of its part went unnoticed. Dembele scored a wonderful solo goal that is surely a candidate to win the recognition for being the goal of the week. Given that Dembele plays so well even without leading a disciplined life, how good would he be if he gets his acts straight!
