Juventus had a rough start to the week and now they’ll need to overcome injury issues to turn things around against Torino.

Juventus suffered an embarrassing loss in Switzerland on Wednesday when Young Boys beat them 2-1 in the Champions League. It was only the second time Juventus has lost all season and neither of those has come in Serie A.

They have been nearly perfect in league play and have gotten off to the best start in any of the top 5 leagues in history. Dropping just 2 points in 15 Serie A matches has helped them build an 8 point lead early in the season. They are currently riding a 6 match win streak in the league and haven’t given up a Serie A goal in over a month. Their crosstown rivals will be hoping to stop this run.

Torino is surprisingly sitting in 6th place on the Serie A table right now thanks in large part to a defense that has is tied for the 4th least goals allowed in the league. Their recent form isn’t great, but they are unbeaten in their last 3. Those matches include scoreless draws against Milan and Cagliari and a win over Genoa. This is their toughest test yet this season and a good performance could establish them as a real contender for a European place.

Juve will be a bit shorthanded for this match. They’ll be missing both Joao Cancelo and Juan Cuadrado as right back options. Medhi Benatia and Andrea Barzagli will both be unavailable at center back and Sami Khedira remains unavailable in the midfield. None of these injuries will prevent Juve from using the 4-3-3 formation that they’ve been using all season.
