LB: Alex Sandro

Alex Sandro was supposed to get the day off on Wednesday, but unfortunately needed to be called into action when Juan Cuadrado was injured. Now he’ll be called upon to save a shorthanded Juve defense again. With Mattia De Sciglio starting in the other full back spot Juve will need Sandro to be an attacking presence on the left wing. Sandro has never had an issue filling this role. Juve needed to get more out of their full backs against Young Boys and Sandro will be looking to rectify that here. I’m sure he’ll be excited to get the chance to forget about that awful penalty he had called against him on Wednesday.

RB: Mattia De Sciglio

Juventus has really been backed into a corner here. Joao Cancelo missed Wednesday’s match against Young Boys due to muscular fatigue. Then his replacement for that match, Juan Cuadrado, had to be removed from the match after 22 minutes due to a knee injury. That leaves Mattia De Sciglio as the only viable option at right back for the Derby della Mole. He has been a serviceable backup when Juve has needed to use him throughout the season, but he is a clear downgrade from Joao Cancelo. He also noticeably doesn’t provide the attacking ability that Cuadrado does in this position. That lack of attacking ability was apparent against Young Boys when Juve needed somebody to unlock the defense. That could be an issue again on Saturday as Torino has been one of Serie A’s best defenses this season, but their attack has struggled, scoring only 19 goals in 15 matches. De Sciglio will be able to help out on the defensive end, but this start could hurt Juve if they struggle to score.
