Predicted Juventus lineup vs Torino: Juve shorthanded for Derby della Mole
By John Vaccaro
LW: Cristiano Ronaldo
Cristiano Ronaldo’s hot streak has come to a screeching halt over the last week. After registering either a goal or an assist in 12 consecutive Serie A matches he was a complete non-factor against Inter. He followed that up with an equally disappointing performance against Young Boys on Wednesday. Over those 2 matches he has struggled to make any kind of a real impact, creating no real chances against Inter and squandering his best chance against Young Boys because he took a bad touch when he was through on goal. These are exactly the types of matches Ronaldo is expected to make a difference in and now he’ll get another chance to make that difference in his first Derby della Mole.
ST: Mario Mandzukic

Mario Mandzukic wasn’t able to leave his mark against Young Boys, but he made his presence felt in Juve’s last derby. Against Inter last week he scored the goal that won the match for Juve. Scoring in those big matches is something he has done throughout his career with Juve. Now they’ll need him to do it again in the Derby della Mole. This has been his best season with Juventus and his performances have made those rumors about a Krzysztof Piatek signing seem unnecessary. These are the matches Mandzukic loves and you can expect to be integral to Juve’s attacking strategy against Torino.
RW: Paulo Dybala
I maintain that this choice is a mistake every time Allegri makes it, but it’s one he’ll make once again on Saturday. Paulo Dybala’s substitute performance against Young Boys made it an absolute certainty that he would start against Torino. He scored a fantastic goal as Juve attempted to mount a comeback and should’ve had a second, but Ronaldo got himself whistled for an unnecessary offside that led to the goal being taken away. Dybala being left out of the staring lineup for that match is a sign that the plan was for him to start this match anyway, but his goal sealed that decision.
Hopefully it turns out better than Dybala’s past right wing starts because Juve will need their attack to be at its best to beat Torino’s defense.
