Left Winger- Marco Asensio- 7/10
Marco Asensio put in a good display and was at the right place and at the right time more than once, but he visibly lacked the confidence which a player of his calibre should be possessing. The 22-year-old missed two massive chances to extend Real Madrid’s grip on the match, the first of which was a one versus one situation against the goalkeeper. Asensio also looked a little timid when trying to beat his markers and was utterly disappointed on the bench after being taken off.
Striker- Karim Benzema- 8/10
Karim Benzema was the match winner for Real Madrid with a very good finish. The Frenchman scored his first league goal in over a month and would have certainly gone home satisfied before flying off to the Emirates. Benzema has been playing really well and only needed a goal to gloss his recent displays. If the former Lyon striker can show his exploits in front of goal more often, then the Whites could be in for a really good time. Benzema was very good against Rayo Vallecano.
Right Winger- Lucas Vazquez- 7.5/10
Lucas Vazquez did a really good job on the right wing and we don’t have to deviate from that sentence often when talking of him. The right winger showed that he is a tireless workhorse yet again with a magnificent shift at the back as well. It was Lucas Vazquez who rounded off a move of art featuring himself and Karim Benzema that led to the goal. On a supporting note, Lucas Vazquez is doing a very handsome job next to Karim Benzema in the forward line of late.
