Barcelona winger Philippe Coutinho could be heading for the exit door of the Camp Nou and make a return to the Premier League very soon.

Barcelona winger Philippe Coutinho completed a dream transfer to the Camp Nou earlier this year for a reported transfer fee of 142 million pounds which stands second in the record of most expensive transfer dealings. However, the former Liverpool attacker has faltered in trying to justify his price tag and especially his quality.

While Coutinho has had several precious moments in the Catalan jersey and picked up three trophies within a year of his signing, consistency has been a major issue for him. With Arthur Melo occupying the left midfielder’s role to great output and Ousmane Dembele firing with all guns, Ernesto Valverde could struggle in getting Coutinho to fit into the regular eleven.

More from FC Barcelona

Express UK has now reported that the Brazil international could be headed back to the Premier League where even Manchester United are waiting with open arms. Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli are believed to be the other candidates noticing his situation whereas Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are keeping a close eye on Philippe as well.

The bookies have gotten to work after the transfer news emerged and have rated Paris Saint-Germain as the top contenders to land the left winger. Coutinho was heavily linked with a transfer to the French capital before checking into Barcelona, but despite Neymar’s desperation of playing with his compatriot, PSG failed in fulfilling the ex-Barca man’s wishes.

A return to the Serie A has been likened to as well. While Inter Milan are not considered to be a hot destination anymore, Carlo Ancelotti’s Napoli have been thought to be a side where Coutinho could be following his football a few months later. Under the ex-Chelsea boss, the Naples based team can do a tremendous job.

Manchester United are an unsurprising name in the list and have been tipped on 6/1 odds to make the signing. A reunion with the Kop in the Anfield has been rated as an 8/1 whereas a potential transfer to Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund has been placed at odds of 12/1 and 16/1 respectively.

Express UK is a trustworthy source and with bookies officially claiming a lot of stuff, it is highly possible that Philippe Coutinho is on the move. Barcelona will surely not be happy with the way in which the Brazilian has settled in and with Ousmane Dembele performing absolutely wonderfully despite his conduct, Ernesto Valverde may start to contemplate getting rid of the former Liverpool man and clearing the wage bill by some amount.
