Left Back- Marcelo- 8.5/10

It was a really good performance by Marcelo who has looked fantastic of late. The Brazil international scooped in with two assists and the lack of attacking threat posed by Kashima Antlers allowed him to lurk in Real Madrid’s attacking half. Of course, Marcelo’s attacking gameplay is shimmering and that was backed once again after a great move for the first goal.

Centre Back- Sergio Ramos- 8/10

Sergio Ramos had a fairly quite night and was unable to add to his tally of scoring in the FIFA Club World Cup this time out. The Real Madrid captain was not tested much and hence, he could go ahead when the circumstances provided for it without much hesitation. Ramos made a great tackle on Serginho in the game and it was a highlight from an otherwise textbook display.

Centre Back- Raphael Varane- 7.5/10

Raphael Varane has been having some fairly simple evenings in the office of late and the one during the Kashima Antlers match was no different either. The France international barely had to make any tackles or interceptions. However, he did win a few aerial battles which were easy for him to deal with given his physique and experience over the opponent.

Right Back- Dani Carvajal- 8/10

Dani Carvajal continued his good form, but not in the attack this time. For some reason, he preferred to stay at the back in the Kashima game which could have been an idea to save gas for the final. Nonetheless, Carvajal intercepted a lot of chances and made sure that Kashima’s creation on their left flank went absolutely barren.
