GK: Wojciech Szczesny

Mattia Perin got the start last weekend against Torino and made it 3/3 for clean sheets in his Juve career, but it will still be Wojciech Szczesny who gets the start against Roma. He has played extremely well for Juve this season, keeping 10 clean sheets for Juve between Serie A and the Champions League. He has yet to give Juve a reason to move on to their keeper of the future and they’ll trust him against another team who has challenged them for the Scudetto over the last few years.

CB: Giorgio Chiellini

Juventus hasn’t given up a goal in over 3 months with Giorgio Chiellini in their starting lineup and he’ll get a chance to extend that run. There isn’t really much to say about Juve’s captain that hasn’t already been said. He has shown no signs of slowing down even in his 14 season with Juve and that should give Juve fans hope that the team will be able to achieve all of their goals this season.

CB: Leonardo Bonucci

I’ve been pushing for Medhi Benatia to take Leonardo Bonucci’s place, but that hasn’t become a reality yet. Against Torino, Bonucci actually managed to take advantage of his start. It was his pressure on Simone Zaza that led to Zaza’s awful back pass and helped create Juve’s only goal of the match.  He didn’t have much other involvement in the match, but at this point in the season I’ll take whatever positives Bonucci offers. Hopefully the next positive will be a better defensive performance than usual because Roma’s attack has recently risen all the way to 4th in the league.
