Eden Hazard’s potential switch to Real Madrid is far from complete, but it seems imminent by the way the Belgium international has been putting his words…
Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo ended an association of a near decade in July 2018. While the latter went to Juventus and has adapted to life fairly well in Torino, Real Madrid have struggled in replacing Cristiano’s goals which came in plenty- 50 per season to be precise. Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale have taken up some responsibility whereas Sergio Ramos has also chipped in with a few goals but the Whites need somebody who can find the back of the net on a regular basis.

Amongst several players linked with a move to Spain, Eden Hazard tops Real Madrid’s list and has openly flirted with the club insisting that he dreams of playing for them. And honestly, it seems like only a matter of time before arguably the best player in the Premier League dons the Whites’ shirt with possibly the iconic number 7 on his back. However, the big question arises, that does Real Madrid really need Eden Hazard?
Yes, I understand that he is one of the best players in the world and all the top players from around the globe are welcome at Real Madrid, but he is not a necessity for the club at this point in time. Hazard’s playing style is more centred towards the creation of chances but there is no shortage with them- what the Whites lack is a finisher inside the box. So, probably Hazard may not be able to answer that problem for them because certainly, he is not the best header of the ball nor does he lurk inside the box.
To give Eden Hazard the credit that the world owes to him, he has created 85 big chances to score the goals in the Premier League over the last two seasons, putting him 30 ahead of the other two names tied at second in Mohamed Salah and Raheem Sterling. Well, of course he will come for cheap given that his contract will be in its final year at the end of the 2018/19 campaign, but probably, Florentino Perez should be a bit more prudent.
Somebody like Mauro Icardi is the perfect fit for what Real Madrid require and even Kylian Mbappe would be a better signing that Hazard, in my humble opinion. Both the players are epitomes of goal scorers and have a long part of their footballing career still to run. While Mbappe can come into a more competitive league and increase his chances of winning the Ballon d’Or in the future, Icardi could replace the great Ronaldo and also rub it into Barcelona’s face with good performances, because earlier they felt that he wasn’t good enough for them.
Would you like to see Eden Hazard at Real Madrid? Secondly, do they actually need him or is he just a potential signing from Perez to satisfy the fans?
