Barcelona will be accelerating their approach for Adrien Rabiot
Barcelona will be inevitably signing Adrien Rabiot from Paris Saint-Germain by the end of this season, however, they could end up buying him in January.
Barcelona target Adrien Rabiot had been stalling on a contract at Paris Saint-Germain since the last few months, and at the start of December, the French champions’ sporting director Antero Henrique confirmed that they will not negotiate about a contract with the midfielder anymore and allow him to leave the club at the end of this season. Henceforth, Thomas Tuchel will also not involve him in any kind of matches.

Paris Saint-Germain are keen to sell the player as soon as possible and might listen to offers for Rabiot in January, as per Diario AS. Barcelona are being considered as front-runners for the PSG midfielder and they might get him for as less as 5 million euros in the coming month. Barcelona’s technical secretary Eric Abidal is already working on the potential transfer which may get wrapped up.
As it is, Rabiot becomes a free agent at the end of the 2018/19 campaign. He is among the most promising midfielders in the world and has played a major role in Paris Saint-Germain’s domestic triumphs in the last few years. The 23-year-old will certainly be an asset for Barcelona which looks like an inevitable decision for him.
While the Catalans will be more than happy to see him come for a petty amount of 5 million euros, Paris Saint-Germain and Nasser Al-Khelaifi will be happy to sell him for less as well. Rather than wasting funds on deadweight and keep it at the end of the season and then lose for free, Paris could gain some cash through his sale.
Barcelona will pay Adrien Rabiot a yearly wage of 10 million euros as per the demand from the player and his mother, who is also his agent. Rabiot will be a great signing for the Blaugrana. The fact that he is 23 is the best thing but other factors such as versatility and goal scoring threat brought in by him are bonuses.
Should Barcelona sign Rabiot in January or just sign a pre-contract agreement with him for next summer?
