Arsene Wenger left Arsenal in the Summer. It was a sad time, but also a time to reflect. That said, here are the 10 best players to play under him during his reign…

Mostly known for his involvement with the Arsenal Invincibles, Arsene Wenger is widely dubbed as one of the best managers in history. Things got tough for him towards the end, but anybody who thinks his legacy was tarnished must re-evaluate their stance. It’s going to be a while before another manager takes a side unbeaten in the Premier League. In fact, it may not ever happen while we’re alive.

Anyway, for you nostalgia lovers, here are the 10 best players to play under Arsene Wenger…

10. Freddie Ljungberg (1998-2007)

Kicking off the list in true fashion is Freddie Ljungberg. Most notoriously known for dying his hair red, it really was indicative of his loyalty to the club. Ljungberg is one for the highlight reel, as of his 72 goals, a lot of them were pleasing to watch…

Ljungberg joined Arsenal before the new millennium, and it definitely marked the turn of a new era for the football club. It took him a while to get a taste of the newly found winning mentality at Arsenal, but in 2002, he lifted his first Premier League title. Of course, he then was part of the campaign which saw the Gunners lift the golden Premier League trophy in 2004, after not losing a single game.

Nowadays, you can still find Freddie behind the scenes at Arsenal. Having stuck true to the club since hanging up his boots, he is now the head coach of the U23 side, who are deploying some exciting football.

The youngsters in North London have an incredible example to look up to in Ljungberg, so long may his legacy continue.
