6. Sol Campbell (2001-2006 & 2010)

He wasn’t with Arsenal as long as some of the others but his legacy remains the same. Sol Campbell, most notoriously known for joining Arsenal from Spurs is still a hot topic of discussion between the two rival fans.

There have been many players to play for both North London sides however Campbell is the most notorious. This is because he was the captain of Spurs and he went on to become an Invincible with Arsenal under Arsene Wenger.

It was the Frenchman’s progress with his club Arsenal which encouraged Campbell to work under him. He joined Arsenal at the right time because a few seasons down the line, they would embark on their most historic era of all time. Campbell was a key figurehead to the Invincibles, picking up a spot in the PFA Team of the Year in the process.

Campbell was a resilient defender. However, he provided a lot from an attacking front too. His tall figure enabled him to win aerial duels, which was shown when he scored in the Champions League final against Barcelona.

On a completely unrelated note, he also made quite the impressive human snowboard…

At the time of writing this, he has recently embarked on his new career venture with Macclesfield Town. I’m sure he would have learned plenty from working under Arsene Wenger, one of the most prominent managers in footballing history.

He is known for posting about his beloved Arsenal on social media. He is one of the club legends who stuck by the side throughout the end of Wenger’s tenure, which in all honesty, not many did. I can’t recall a time Campbell spoke a bad word about Wenger, which makes him an even more admirable figure.

He won the league at White Hart Lane and he’s still Tottenham’s biggest legend. However, his name remains in the hearts of Arsenal fans and that’s the way it always will be.
