4. Offload some deadwood

Tottenham have a lot of talent in their squad, but there are several players who have absolutely no future with Spurs. It’s imperative that the club get rid of some useless players in January.

The most obvious duo that must go are Vincent Janssen and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou. Janssen doesn’t even have a squad number at the moment. There are rumours about his health, but the truth is no one has seen him in quite some time.

N’Koudou makes an occasional appearance in the squad, but it’s clear Pochettino doesn’t trust him. He also needs to be jettisoned even if the club are forced to take a loss on the transaction.

There are some other players who could potentially be offloaded. If Mousa Dembele is really determined to leave this summer it might make sense to secure a few million pounds for his services now. It’s not as if he’s really given Pochettino valuable minutes lately.

No player of any real value should be sold in January absent an outrageous transfer offer, but Tottenham desperately need to create some room on their squad for incoming players. It may not be easy to find buyers for some of these players, but that’s why Levy gets paid the big money. He has to find a way to create some open spots on Pochettino’s squad in January.
