Real Madrid could be set for a reunion with the infamous Jose Mourinho in the summer, but the Portuguese wants a few assurances before accepting the job…

Jose Mourinho was fired by Manchester United in December following a 3-1 defeat to arch-rivals Liverpool, which was the last nail into the coffin that put an end to Jose’s stint at the Old Trafford. The rumour mongers have already gotten to work and there has been several talk of him potentially returning to Real Madrid.

More from Real Madrid

The 55-year-old has already coached the Whites for three seasons and played an attractive style of football at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. After leading the club to several trophies and building a foundation that has led to them being highly successful over the last five years, he left the club at the end of 2012/13 after a trophy-less year.

Real Madrid was one of the clubs which did not sack Jose Mourinho, but the former Chelsea boss apparently left as a reason of turbulent relationships with some of the most key players in the dressing room. Sergio Ramos and Iker Casillas are those who make that list as does Cristiano Ronaldo.

Despite leaving the club by mutual consent and with a few years left on his contract, Florentino Perez continues to be an admirer of Jose Mourinho and believes that his experience can help the Whites in becoming steady after what is turning out to be a catastrophe of a season even with Santiago Solari.

Some of Jose Mourinho’s most vibrant footballing was done with Real Madrid and he added a very lethal identity to their gameplay. And hence, the Special One believes that the Spanish capital could be a good destination for him to make a managerial return at the start of next season and rub it into the faces of his doubters, myself included as well as the media.

For sure, the job offer has attracted Jose Mourinho and he is looking forward to possibly inheriting the hot seat from Santiago Solari. However, a few reports have claimed that the 55-year-old wants to have assurances from Florentino Perez before he can get into advanced talks and confirm the post with a signed contract.

The Real Madrid President is a notorious businessman and is known to control the transfer lists himself, but that is one thing which Jose Mourinho wants the leverage and full command of while at Real Madrid. The Portuguese boss also wants to know in advance, the amount of transfer fees that Perez will be willing to provide him with and also wants to sign a striker and central defender.

Can Jose Mourinho bring the best out of Real Madrid and himself if he is handed the liberty in the transfer market by Florentino Perez?
