Chelsea are getting results at one point, and not doing the same at the other despite playing well. A lot of other things at the Bridge are not straightforward either.

Chelsea only narrowly got the better of Newcastle United on Saturday’s Premier League clash to stay in the hunt for a place in the top four of the 2018/19 season. The Blues have to hand it to Pedro and Willian scoring the goals for them, but for sure, it was not at all a very good performance from them and it’s not the first time that this has happened.

Maurizio Sarri’s famous “Sarri-ball” has done well at west London and especially with Jorginho in the team, there is an identity in the team’s playing style. However, the results are not there despite the beautiful approach to matches and there is absolutely no point in playing well but not pulling out the three points in a match by convincing the fans.

More from Chelsea FC

The Blues got in a player from Napoli who has completed over 2000 passes across the Premier League so far, but has failed to even assist once and got rid of Cesc Fabregas who could single-handedly win matches for the team on his day. Those “Fabregas days” were not rare by any means and somebody who has watched him play knows it.

Now coming to their transfer activity; or the lack of it once again shows that they are not heading in the right direction. Chelsea had a massive offer from Barcelona in which the Catalans were ready to give Malcom as well as money in excess of 30 million pounds, but the Blues’ board rejected it flatly and kept the Brazil international at least for now.

Now Willian has been a superb player over the last few years for Chelsea and he has been very integral for them in the two Premier Leagues they have won over the last few years, but this season, he has shown signs of slowing down and Barcelona were ready to take him. Frankly, it just looked like the two boards were trying to win a competition of being incompetent!

What sucks is the fact that the Blues are ready to keep Willian, who will probably not even make it into the team two years later and are ready to part ways with Callum Hudson-Odoi who has been approached by Bayern Munich. The Bavarians have apparently even told the young winger that he will get the legendary number 10 and be a crucial part of the squad.

In all honesty, a massive club like that who is arguably the best in London and one of the best in England should not be like that. Needless to say, their striker situation is not going in the right direction either and it is high time that they pull up because with the way they are going, I see them as being another AC Milan.

Next. David Luiz has already spotted his next destination. dark

What is your take on the situation of the club at this point in time?
