Left Winger- Philippe Coutinho- 7.5/10

It was a rare start for Philippe Coutinho who was in the line-up for a second game on the bounce. The Brazilian double teamed superbly with his national teammate Arthur on the left flank and was also very much involved in the gameplay with former Liverpool teammate Luis Suarez in the final third. His performance was good, but surely not worthy enough of outdoing Ousmane Dembele of his starting role. Nevertheless, it was a good day for him as Coutinho also got an assist.

Striker- Luis Suarez- 9/10

Luis Suarez was definitely Barcelona’s man of the match. He misses out on the full 10 out of 10 because he completed just 63% of his passes and got an unnecessary yellow card. The Uruguay international was in the thick of it nonetheless and put in a marvelous display. Suarez scored two goals, both being worked out amazingly whereas his brace was sandwiched in between a Leo Messi goal for which he got the assist. Suarez is fairly on track to reach 30 league goals for the season.

Right Winger- Lionel Messi- 8/10

Lionel Messi was not the star of the show by any means, but he did the primary thing that he stepped onto the pitch for- score his four hundredth league goal. It was a great finish into the far post past Asier Riesgo by the Barcelona captain as he danced away from two defenders before slotting the ball home. Messi did not play a massive role in the match from the creative point of view and it was just about a good game for him. He will be leading Barcelona’s proposed comeback against Levante.
