Messi and Suarez seek to drive Dembele out of Barcelona
Ousmane Dembele’s indiscipline at Barcelona may have been forgiven by Ernesto Valverde, but Messi and Suarez have not taken anything lightly.
Barcelona saw off Eibar on the weekend by a 3-0 margin to get a routine and comfortable win. The Catalan newspaper headlines were full of Lionel Messi’s pictures because the Barcelona captain had just scored his four hundredth goal La Liga goal. However, Diario GOL has claimed that the match could have been the starting of the end of Ousmane Dembele’s tenure at Barcelona.
Indiscipline was an issue for the France international, but Ernesto Valverde gave him a second chance. Dembele took it very well and has been on the scoresheet amongst the goals, assists and he has also been tracking back to defend. However, all of that has come at the cost of Philippe Coutinho and every sign has been pointing towards the exit of one of the two players- Dembele or Coutinho.

Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi are one of the most lethal pairs across world football and they certainly have a say in the transfer matters at Barcelona as well as the team selection. It now seems that they are not fans of playing next to Ousmane Dembele and prefer being alongside Philippe Coutinho in the attack. The Frenchman’s agent has already started looking for newer pastures for his client as well.
Dembele has been offered to Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, whereas Atletico Madrid is a hot destination for the former Borussia Dortmund striker as well. Among all of these, Atletico Madrid are eyeing a transfer for him and Diego Simeone has an ambitious plan of pairing Dembele and Antoine Griezmann at the head of the Rojiblancos’ frontline and cause damage to the title opponents of Atletico.

While there is a long way to go until the season ends, Ousmane Dembele is definitely going to find it hard to win a regular starting berth in the team if all the talk is true. While he may have already impressed Ernesto Valverde with his displays, being on absolutely clean terms with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez should be his objective if the duo is planning to drag the France international out of the Camp Nou.
