LB: Alex Sandro

Alex Sandro was given most of the match off against Bologna over the weekend, but will return to the starting lineup against Milan on Wednesday. He should have plenty of opportunities to influence the match as Milan’s midfield has been in absolute shambles recently. This should allow Juve to control Juventus and Sandro to attack with impunity. Juve will have both of its fullbacks available for the first time since November so expect Sandro and Cancelo to have a big impact on this match.

RB: Joao Cancelo

Joao Cancelo has missed the last month because of a knee injury, but he will make his return against AC Milan for his first Supercoppa Italiana. Juventus has missed him during his absence as Mattia De Sciglio hasn’t quite been able to provide the attacking threat that Cancelo does over that time. De Sciglio put forth a valiant defensive effort, but for most of the season Juventus has relied upon Cancelo to provide the danger on the right wing that Paulo Dybala simply does not. Without him Juve’s attack hasn’t looked quite as dangerous as they did before his injury. Their attack lacked answers for large stretches of matches they dominated against Torino and Roma and needed an own goal and a Ronaldo rescue to salvage a draw against Sampdoria without him. Now with him back Juve will return to full strength and it comes just in time for Juve to start preparing for Atletico.
